Neonatal Escape Room Product Demo

This AWHONN education product demo showcases the AWHONN Neonatal Escape Rooms. Escape rooms are an innovative trend in simulation that use puzzles and games to teach and evaluate clinical knowledge, teamwork, and collaboration. AWHONN’s Neonatal Escape Room bundle includes three topics: neonatal resuscitation, neonatal hypoglycemia, and neonatal sepsis. Each topic includes an instructor guide to walk you through planning and implementing the escape room along with a participant guide for learners. The content of the escape rooms is appropriate for all levels of newborn care, including well newborn and newborn special care or intensive care units. Nursing contact hours are not available for this session. 

Perinatal Orientation Education Program (POEP) Product Demo

This AWHONN education product demo showcases the newly revised AWHONN Perinatal Orientation Education Program (released in June of 2024).  The Perinatal Orientation and Education Program (POEP) is highly effective in providing evidence-based, clinical education to perinatal nurses. POEP helps to mitigate patient risk, increase staff efficiency, and promote optimal obstetric outcomes while saving your healthcare system time and money. With POEP, your facility can establish consistent provision of high-quality care for pregnant patients, postpartum patients, and newborns. Nursing contact hours are not available for this session. 

POST-BIRTH Warning Signs Product Demo

This AWHONN education product demo showcases the updated AWHONN POST-BIRTH Warning Signs Education course and program. This course provides a standardized approach to postpartum pre- and post-discharge education for all patients, regardless of risk factors. Course participants are educated about the United States maternal morbidity and mortality crisis, definitions, causes, and contributing factors. The course provides participants with strategies to educate patients and their families to recognize POST-BIRTH warning signs. This demonstration will review the new and updated PBWS resources, including the toolkit, Save Your Life Handout, and how to use the friendly mobile application.  Nursing contact hours are not available for this session.
